Marva is a proud Cuban-American and fluent Spanish speaker from Miami, Florida. Marva graduated from Florida State University in 2012 with a double bachelor’s degree in philosophy and criminology. Marva attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and graduated with her Juris Doctor in 2015. Marva joined the firm in 2013, primarily handling court cases. Marva has gained significant exposure with a variety of immigration matters, including special immigrant juveniles, u-visa applicants, VAWA recipients, affirmative asylums, and other motions before the immigration court. Marva handles criminal, custody and divorce cases. Marva is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, Hispanic Bar Association of Michigan, Oakland County Bar Association, and the Washtenaw County Bar Association. Marva was recognized by President Obama’s Council on Service and Civic Participation and was awarded the Presidential Volunteer Service Award for her contribution of over 300 hours of community service.
