Ali Wright

Ali Wright is an Assistant Defender with the State Appellate Defender Office, representing indigent Michiganders who appeal their criminal convictions before the state trial courts, Court of Appeals, and Supreme Court. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University as well as a juris doctorate from Cornell Law School. After law school, Ali spent several years working as a civil practitioner with law firms in the Washington, D.C. area, his hometown. Directly prior to joining SADO, Ali served as an Assistant Federal Defender with the Federal Community Defender Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, where he represented indigent, death-sentenced offenders in their post-conviction habeas proceedings before the federal courts. When he is not working on his client’s cases, Ali spends his time playing sports, exercising, or doing yard work with his wife and his dog.
